I got bored with it. This was quite a disappointment. I guess I was hoping for a game similar to Super Mario Bros but this was not even near that. There were many boards where I just had to sit and watch while the game played on it's own (as 3 other players). I also did not like the mini games very well as some of them it seemed I could not control the results very well.
Several different modes of game play are available so that any player is sure to find one they like.Cons: It would be nice if there were more boards available, since you get through the five included pretty quickly. Pros: Most of the features are available for DS download play with just one game card. The game isn't difficult by any means, so if you want the arcade challenge you get from other Mario games, this probably isn't for you. It's great fun. That said, you still have to play each one several times before you get tired of it. It also has great replay value, since it's never quite the same game twice. And while most of the other Mario games get kind of lame when you go multiplayer, this one is even MORE fun to play with others, which you can do with just one game card. The puzzles included in "puzzle mode" are also painfully dull and simple, so that mode has little value.
This game is simple enough for kids to grasp, but fun enough for adults to want to finish. I've played lots of the "main" Mario games, but this is my first time playing a Mario Party. My only genuine complaint about the game is that there's not enough of it. Still, this gives you a sense of competitiveness absent from other Mario games, even when you're just playing against the computer. Also, if you don't have someone else who has a DS that you can play this with, you'll probably get tired of it more quickly.Bottom line: Overall, I would recommend this game to anyone of any age, particularly if you have someone you can play it with.
Multiplayer, is ofcourse, what the game is really about. Even tho i very recently played the newest version, the DS version is a lot of fun. It DID NOT disappoint. Having played most of the Mario Party line, including the newest on Wii I was excited to play the DS version. My Wife, who is not usually a big video game fan, couldn't put it down. Single Player mode is fun, and gets you used to the minigames. I strongly suggest this for anyone, but especially people who have friends/family that they can do the multiplayer with.
I wish with the advancement of the Nintendo DS, they would come out with more challenging games. I am a huge fan of the Mario Party games, and this was beyond disappointment. It was boring, over quick, and with only 5 boards to choose from, you get no where fast. Also the other little items and badges you receive, serve no purpose, at least to me. Or at least more games for adult children.
The game is just awesome. In multiplayer game, it's even more challeging. Great mini-games that one you start playing, you just can't stop. A must Have.
