Not the easiest thing to fly and they do kind of have a mind of their own but a ton of fun. You definitely need a large room (preferably with high ceilings) to get the best out of them. Great toy for both little and big kids.
The tail blade is a bit weak, but if the company will replace that we'll be fine (we haven't asked yet). My pre-teen boys have had a blast with these toys. It's not often you can find really fun toys for boys 8 & 11. These hit the mark. These really develop a boy's eye-hand coordination - or for that matter, even his mom's.
Given how delicate they are, they are kind of pricey. They damage very easily, even with care, but they are great fun. If you want a toy everyone will love but will not outlast the excitement (i.e. break or get sloppy in flight before boredom sets in) this is the toy for you. 5 stars for fun; 1 for durability; net 3 overall.
These are quite fragile and the other one kept breaking as well. But one helicopter just did not work right out of the box. I bought this for my 2 nephews to play with. Great fun when works. Only one did and they had a lot of fun with it, but just weren't able to 'fight' each other as advertised. Get it if you get a good deal but buy it from a store so you can return it easily if it just doesn't work out of the box.
In fact, he uses them to play with our Jack Russell -- who has jumped up, caught these helicopters and flung them on the carpet at least 400 times. I must admit that I was disappointed when I got this box, because the helicopters were so small.and their 5 minute flight time between charges sometimes is frustrating. But overall, they are really great. My boyfriend has had them for 6 months, and they are still going -- and he is not gentle with them. And they are still going.I'm not saying the foam doesn't have a lot of holes, but they still fly.
