When I recieved the toy it did not come in its own box and it did not seem to do the things the product description said but it still looks fun enough for my 5 year old nephew to get at Christmas but I doubt he will learn much from it. Still it is good.
Now, it is just a tube of water with glitter that does NOTHING. It worked exactly ONCE. I purchased this for my son, who loves studying severe weather. And of course, it costs more to ship back for a refund than the value of the item itself. It made one funnel cloud, then it burped a large air bubble inside and that was it, no matter which way it was turned, spun , or shaken. As I said.JUNK.
But this toy so far has kept his interest and has outlasted most other toys he has. I also learned a few facts about this phenomena from the educational tidbits on the back. It was fun to watch him study and analyze how a twister is formed in this way. My son absolutely loved this toy. In fact, it's sitting on top of the TV right now. Most toys for my son he loses interest in fairly quick. Most toys for him usually find their way to the bottom of the toy chest within a week's time.
My son loves wild weather particuarly tornados this is an awesome item with a great price and is durable I got tired of trying to produce my own with 2 liter bottles this is exactly what we have been looking for.
Just shake and it usually spins for about five seconds. He didn't take interest in this toy for more than a couple of weeks which is usually the fate of all toys anyway. I was going to buy a more complicated tornado maker but it wasn't in stock at the time. I bought this for my little brother who was into tornado's at the time. It has some information on the back about the level tornados and explains the damage each can create which I found interesting. But it does produce a pretty cool little water tornado. Overall a great toy for a younger child a great stocking stuffer like I said.
