Throw turtle shells, butt-stomp to crack open floors -- you can even use the tanooki suit from Super Mario Bros. 3. Use the DS dual screen to see where you are on a map & play fun minigames. Also includes a two-player mode where Mario and Luigi race and compete for coins.

User Comments about the New Super Mario Bros.

I do wish they would resurect the original Mario Bros. This is a terrific game. I have always loved playing Mario Bros. since the first Nintendo came out in the 80's.My kids grew up on Mario and now I have the Nintendo lite and I love it and play Mario now with my grandkids. for use with the Nintendo lite.

The 2 other power-ups are worthless. They blend nicely together. This becomes quickly annoying. Even the final boss battle at the end of the game was easy.

Now onto the lackluster part. Doesn't that suck. You know it's easier to find the secret to skipping the game than it is to find the secret to unlock the hidden 1/4. Super annoying. The mini games are recycled from Super Mario 64 DS and so is the multiplayer from every other mario game. The game is easy. But what am I thinking, that would've been a good idea. Is there any motivation to complete the other worlds.

I didn't pay too much attention to sound, but one thing that did annoy me was what Mario said after finishing each level. If you want to play a Mario game better than this, go play super mario advance 4: Super Mario Bros. I had 50 lives after 3 worlds. series. Since the flower is much easier to play with, this powerup goes to help acquire secrets in stages that, also don't provide the powerup. It can't get any easier.

(more sarcasm). The graphics for this game are very nice. Well. There are also red coins to collect. They give you powerups as well for collecting them within the given time limit. It's influenced by Super Mario Bros. But wait, if you're lucky enough, you might also accidentally discover a way to only do 3 worlds before getting to world 8.

It would have been nice if you included the original super mario bros as a nice extra. Fetch it boy. The castle boss battles are also easy. The levels aren't even challenging. That's why you can't save when you want, just every time you complete a castle or spend star-coins. Great extras Nintendo. You could collect them only for collecting's sake. Mario and Luigi look different from each other this time around.

This one's rare. If you get to the boss with fire powerup, which is super easy to do, since you can always carry a spare poweup with you, that you can't lose by dying, and call upon it whenever you need it, the boss becomes very little of a challenge. This game is influenced by Super Mario Bros. First let me explain that this isn't a remake of the original Super Mario Bros. Not only that, but they provide you with a crap load of power ups beyond the ones in the stages, making it even easier. It's short and easy. It seemed nice in the first world, until it got too repetitive and easy.

All the characters are rendered in 3d as well as some of the backgrounds. The problem is that they almost never give this power-up to you in the level where the secrets are at. To "spice" things up, each stage has 3 stars-coins to collect, some of which require some thinking, but most are easy. And you're done. what is sounded like he said was, "Thank you so nice." which is irritating to hear so many times.

And what do they do, give you powerups to make the game even easier. First you can grow to super size. In fact, the game is fun to play, but its flaws are too much for me and that's why I wouldn't buy it. The game looks, feels, sounds, and breathes like a super mario game. So this should last you a bit (sarcasm). It's way too easy and it seems like they don't even want you to play through the game. So, chop the game in less than half and that's it's length. The other powerup gives you a turtle shell so you can slide like a turtleshell against enemies.

with the each stage's gameplay and finish pole. So you'll have to go find one where there is and play that level to get it. It's influenced by Super Mario World with some stage's backgrounds and gameplay elements including the climbing on the fences. Otherwise it would be a great game. 3. No complaints. Save those for levels filled with bricks it's easy lives. And then on top of that, there's a lackluster ending.

So much for a pick up and play game. The english is so bad, that it's unbearable. 3 with it's map layout of each world, along with it's toad houses and hammer dudes walking around. The gameplay.

And that's annoying. They give you this way too often and what does this do, it gives you up to 5 lives, the amount depending on how much destruction you cause. If that weren't enough, they also keep 2 out of the 8 worlds as an unlockable secret. Just as they should. Nintendo knows how non-challenging the game is. No. Sometimes all you need is super mario so that you don't die crossing the bridge to the other side to drop the bridge.

You don't have to collect the stars, it's pointless. Instead, it's a try into revitalizing the once great Super Mario Bros. One that makes you really tiny, useless against enemies makes this one just for finding secrets. This game features 3 power ups not included in any other mario game. VERDICT This game is Disappointing.

I love this game. I play it all the time. It makes me giggle just to think about it.

I have two daughters, 8 and 10, that love video games and have really enjoyed this one. The DS Lite system is great for trips or any time the kids are stuck in a place where they need to keep quiet for a little bit.

After that, all you really want to do is play the watered down version of 5-hand poker in the minigames section.All-in-all, its a pancake of Super Mario Bros, Super Mario World, and Super Mario 64 with new levels and minigames. is present. The feature of carring around an extra power-up (From Super Mario World) is present, only you have to touch it on the touch screen rather than pressing "select," either wasting time pulling out your stylus or getting the corner of your screen greasy. (i.e. The invincible star lasts about five seconds, and when using it, you hold down the "run" button, and you accelerate to maximum speed, completeley skipping normal running speed. Bowser only makes 2 appearances. The overall gameplay would've been better on the Super Nintendo with Super Mario World. There are a couple of new songs, but the a lot of the music (i.e.

1 is walking, 2 is tapping the run button, 3 is normal running, and 8 is running with the star. I wish I would've rented it instead of paying $35 for it at GameStop. There are no new characters, simply less characters. Yoshi is completely missing (Besides in the minigames).

Even the Mega Mushroom and the Micro Mushroom were taken from Mario 64 and placed into this game. underground, invincible, mushroom houses) are simply the exact same music from Super Mario All-Stars on the Super NES and Super Mario 64. They can get confusing and some Star Coins and second exits require the Micro Mushroom which is tedious and timely to acquire, and takes even longer to get one into your inventory for a safe travel through the level you need it on. Toad, the little mushroom man, has been replaced with Toadsworth from Mario Party. On the subject of power-ups, there are simply too many. the first being the boss battles from Super Mario Bros (NES), the second being exactly the same as the first, except for the fact that he is a skeleton and Bowser Jr.

Well, to start:Nintendo accidentally called it "New Super Mario Bros." What they really meant was, "New Levels, Old Super Mario Stuff."The only new things in this game are the minigames and the levels. But touching the touch screen with anything besides a Nintendo approved stylus can cause scratching. Not a big deal. it goes like this: 1-2-8).The Blue Shell power-up is helpful if you are lacking in talent or if you simply want to hold one button for three minutes and watch the level go by.The Mega Mushroom is as it would normally be in Super Mario 64, the only difference is that you can only move in 3 directions: left, right, and up.After you beat the game, you feel the need to go through and collect all three Star Coins from every single level, unlock worlds 4 and 7 (which require beating worlds 2 and 5's bosses with Micro Mushrooms), and opening all the second exits.
