User Comments about the Marina Betta Kit in Blue

A full gallon tank would be great but as a student in a dorm I have no space for that in my room. They give you plenty so this may be a good idea. Also the bowl conditioner and betta food are a real plus for the price. This fish sits perfectly on my desk and the tank is a great size. Some say this tank is too small, but after transporting my fish from the bowl I had bought him in, to this one, I noticed he was much happier and lively. A good gift for new betta owners. Before placing the fish in the tank, I had removed a good amount of gravel to allow some more space for the fish to swim. I regularly use everything that came in the kit.

Bettas can be just as cheerful in a tank this size as a tank that is ten gallons. I suggest fulfilling the quarter water changes every day by simply dipping a disposible cup of some sort into the water, removing that amount and then replacing. Keep a turkey baster by the bowl, and cleanup is a breeze - just suck the little pieces of debris out. If you are willing to keep it at a stable temperature by heating it with a lamp after quarter water changes. This is a good sized tank if you DON'T have space (nor wish to make space) for a ten gallon monstrosity in your bedroom. Give your friend a little mirror so he can flare at himself, or put the tank in a busy area so he can watch his favorite thing.you.A great friend of mine had her Betta live long past his lifespan.well into six years.in this tank. Check it with a thermometer, and the water, given the room temperature is average, should stay at that temperature until your next water change. Mental stimulation.

Just lay on the gravel. He was once in a small bowl and did nothing. This is FAR too small for a betta. The pet shop conditions are intended to be ony temporary. Pet shops that sell them in tiny bowls do so because they are an inexpensive way to seperate them.

This may seem like a good "aquarium," but it is not. Do not buy this. My betta is in about a 2.5 gallon tank and is so happy. About a 3 gallon tank will house a much happier fish, and a more entertaining one.

You use the optional light kit (7W) to maintain heat for your Betta. We live in chilly Canada and have no problems with this tank. The colors match my daughters room. The fish (Sam) is very happy and content (lots of bubbles) in this size.My wife cleans it regularily with no complaints. You can always get a bigger tank with a filter but isn't necessary. We highly recommend this tank.

This also has no lighting leave betta looking dull and boring, no heating or ability to heat so your house must stay warm where your betta is and it just isn't good. I'm a betta hobbist and I know about all the misconceptions that betta can live in just about anything and it is bogus. This "aquarium" is way too small, betta require atleast one gallon of water and that needs to be cleaned 1-2x weekly atleast. This is probably 1/2 gallon or less meaning you either clean it every day, t hus stressing your betta out and killing it or let is die a slow death from ammonia burns and other ills. You can also buy large Critter Carriers (2-3 gallons) for the same price or less, it wouldn't be great, but it'd be a heck of a lot better.
