It is amazing. I plugged it permanently to a garden hose with one of those connectors that facilitate plugging and unplugging. Hope that will make it last much longer. You will never go back to the bucket practice. Bought it a week ago. But perhaps it is not worth the hassle (depending on your budget and entreprenourship). I wonder how long will the pump last, since it is made of plastic, specially if you plug it and unplug it every time you use it. You can also make your own python using a waterbed fill and drain device, some tubing, a valve and a gravel filter.
I'm adding my name to the list of people that adore this product. That process used to take an hour. I just cleaned and refilled my tank in fifteen minutes. I'm actually looking forward to changing the water again next week, to show off to my skeptical husband that this product was worth every penny.
This thing is an absolute necessity if you are going to maintain your aquariums the way they should be maintained. Most others have said most things, but I wanted to add this. Take a look at PetsMart. In my area, they sell some other brands, but when they are working on their own tanks, they use a Python. Take care of it, and it will last you for decades.
I wasn't sure if I should buy it at first because it seemed so hard to use, and wasn't sure how it worked. I had bought a siphon cleaner before this. I would have water all over the place. Then I received it, and honestly, I've never been happier to clean my tank. It's AMAZING how fast it gets the job done. and it was the worst thing ever.
HARD WORK. Bucket after bucket of water being carried into the bathroom, then refilling the buckets with more dirty water, having to move in and out of the tank to suck in the gravel and etc. When I got my turtle, I never realized how hard it would be to clean the tank. Then I looked online for something better and saw the Python no spill clean and fill. It attaches to your faucet and uses water pressure to suck in the dirty water from the tank, then when you're ready to fill it up again, all you have to do is turn the green tube on the end and it'll fill right up.
No big deal really, just in case you were foolish enough to let one of our fish get sucked in theres a shut off valve right on the end and you can easily reverse the flow.All in All this kit is excellent. The price is sometimes higher than other similar kits but it is well worth the investment. Heavy duty, easy to set up and operate and there are plenty of replacement parts available should the need ever arise. I read up about it on many different websites, check reviews, compare prices etc.Everyone was saying The Python No Spill Kit was top of the line, works great, best purchase they made and so on.
While many other similar cleaning kits didn't get as good reviews. Having to syphon to get water flowing, caring buckets of dirty water to the sink, making a mess and taking lots of time and often teamwork.This Python Kit was so much better. While let me tell you, I got this in the mail, hooked it up in 5 minutes (I take my time reading instructions), cleaned my 60 gallon tank, refilled it and put it away with no help in about 15 - 20 minutes total.I was so surprised how easy and effective it was.It really is as good as all the hype.I had been cleaning my aquariums with a small syphon vac for years. Before I buy an item like this I do alot of research.
I will probably be using this kit for the rest of my life because I plan on always keeping clean healthy fish.PYTHON ROCKS. The only thing which I didn't like was that the similar Lee's Ultimate Gravel Vac Kit had a "Fish-Saver Cleaning Claw" to help avoid siphoning fish, which the Python Kit did not have. You definately get what you pay for.
